From
David Knies, Wing member of the Alabama Wing of Mercy Flight™ Southeast, and volunteer pilot, shares this message.
. . . I have been asked what made me start volunteering with Mercy Flight™ Southeast and the simplest, most straight forward answer is the mission.
The mission of Mercy Flight™ Southeast is one of the most pure, home-grown, missions of any organization - utilizing the skills of a select group of people to help others. On top of that, it doesn't end with that group of pilots. Without the countless hours spent by our office volunteers, mission coordinators, and staff, their "missions" would never happen.
I have been a volunteer for Mercy Flight™ Southeast for over seven years. In that time period, I have flown over 200 missions. I am proud to say that I have been with patients on their highest days and on their lowest. I have had the pleasure of caring — it is truly a rewarding experience!
. . . Would you believe that only 9% of the people who qualify for our service know about it? I'd like to challenge each of you to change that! I can guarantee that there are Mercy Flight™ Southeast pilots waiting to fly them!
